Plastic Acid Orchestra is a modern symphony orchestra that creates an exciting new musical experience by combining original Plastic Acid compositions, bold compositions from some of the most accomplished young Canadian composers and modern symphonic arrangements of popular music. Founded by Music Director, Bryan Deans, PAO brings a symphonic sound with a modern edge that hopes to bridge the gap between the old and the new.
Plastic Acid Band is a Vancouver-based, prog art rock trio that fuses a unique recipe of cello, drums, percussion, piano, voice... with the potential of adding fire poi. Their sound soars with percussive melodic soundscapes; ripping cello and piano licks, world beats, folk rhythms, modal harmonies, and haunting vocals. The ensemble is comprised of Bryan Deans (cello), Mariah Mennie (piano/vocals) and Brad Fisher (percussion/drums). They are also principle members of Plastic Acid Orchestra and often arrange band originals for use with PAO.
Plastic Acid performs regularly in Vancouver and Western Canada. Plastic Acid Orchestra has hosted several sold out performances in venues such as The Vogue, Venue and the Orpheum. Plastic Acid Band has performed more intimate shows at many of Vancouver's legendary venues such as The Railway Club, The Cellar Jazz, Media Club, Falconetti's and across Western Canada.
